To avoid the crowds I’d recommend at least 2 visits to the Lost city of Petra
The sight of the Great Treasury of Petra is one of the most thrilling travel experiences you will encounter, giving the visitor a great sense of discovery and something very special to savour. You will experience Petra, plus many other fascinating places in Jordan, with the expert guidance of Dr Neil Faulkner.
Dr Neil Faulkner was educated at King’s College, Cambridge, and the Institute of Archaeology, UCL. He is currently Research Fellow at the University of Bristol, Editor of Military History Monthly, and Co-director of archaeological field projects in Norfolk, Jordan, and Slovenia. The author of eight books, he works as a freelance lecturer, writer, and broadcaster. Originally trained as a Romanist, he now considers himself a generalist interested in history’s ‘grand narratives’
